2025: Fight for the WI Supreme Court with STV & WFP

Details

Date:
Fri Jun 13

Venue

Wisconsin

The April 1st 2025 Wisconsin State Supreme Court race is critical. Seed the Vote will be teaming up with Working Families Party Wisconsin to help Susan Crawford win her Supreme Court race against her MAGA opponent.

If we win, we will maintain our 4-3 majority on the court, which will let us keep or win fair legislative districts, voting rights, abortion access and other critical issues. If we lose, the court flips from a liberal majority to a conservative majority before the 2026 Congressional Midterms, when voting rights and other pivotal issues will face intense scrutiny before the court.

We will be door knocking in WI from March 22nd-April 1st and phone banking starting mid-February. We also need people to fundraise by reaching out to their friends & family to ask them to donate, and people to help us recruit potential doorknockers in the Midwest.

More background:

Before liberal Justice Janet Protasiewicz’s landmark victory in 2023, the conservative-dominated court issued rulings with sweeping implications for labor rights, environmental protections, and voting laws. Since the shift to a liberal majority, the court has ruled Wisconsin’s gerrymandered maps unconstitutional and enabling fair redistricting ahead of the 2024 elections. This led to significant Democratic gains — 10 seats in the State Assembly and four in the State Senate — reshaping the state’s political landscape.

WI will also be a pivotal swing state in 2026 for the midterm elections. To win the House in 2026, we need to secure a liberal justice in the WI Supreme Court in 2025. WI will also be a crucial state in 2028 for the White House and for control of the U.S. Senate.

Elon Musk is focused on this race, and the other side will likely have tons of money that will be used to smear Crawford. Person-to-person contacts are essential to counteract the right-wing propaganda machine.
