Join SSPA for an Indigenous People’s Day holiday weekend canvass this election cycle in the Lehigh Valley area to help Democrat Bob Brooks flip a highly competitive seat now held by Ryan MacKenzie. PA-07 is described as “one of the most flippable seats in the country.” Brooks, a 20-year firefighter and former president of the Firefighters Union, is trying to unseat a one-term incumbent who has voted 100% with Trump. Brooks is an anti-billionaire candidate who speaks for the working people. He supports Medicare for all and making sure the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share of taxes.
This is a holiday weekend, so we’re also offering the option of canvassing on Monday (and a Sunday night hotel option). You’re welcome to canvass one, two, or three days.
We’ll be carpooling from the Silver Spring, MD area to the Allentown, PA area.
Once there, we’ll be getting out the vote among primarily low-propensity Democrats and Independents and canvassing for down-ballot candidates, including one running for the PA State Senate. PA-07 is a 3-hour drive from Silver Spring in a beautiful part of eastern PA. We’ll arrange affordable lodging in a hotel near the canvass launch site and organize a group dinner on Saturday night. We will help with carpools for those who need rides and pair you up with a partner if you need one. Stay tuned for more details.
