Join Commit to Democracy and Dr. Steven Volk, Professor Emeritus at Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, for this important training to ensure you know your rights and are actively working in your community to protect them!
Dr. Volk is part of Stand Up for Immigrants in Oberlin, Ohio, and was integral to helping Oberlin increase public safety by passing city laws restricting police cooperation with ICE. Our communities are much safer when we are all safe. He teaches an engaging Know Your Rights training grounded in the U.S. Constitution, which is the document that gives us all our rights.
He presents Constitutional lessons in an easy-to-understand, engaging way so you can know your rights, and gives tangible examples of how you can work in your communities to help protect the immigrant community. By and large, immigrants – documented and undocumented – have the same rights as we do, and when their rights are threatened, our rights are threatened. Join us!
