“Working the Crowd” – Activating Protesters Training

We’re calling it “Working the Crowd”. This training is designed to equip volunteers and emerging organizers with practical, hands-on skills to convert rally attendees into active participants in our movement.

Why this training and why now? Rallies, protests, and public events bring together people who care. But without a clear plan to engage them, we miss the chance to build long-term power.

We’ve specifically timed this training to happen before the big national No Kings rallies happening on June 14, hoping that the lessons learned from this training will be fresh and fruitful as millions of Americans turn out in support of our democracy.

Topics We’ll Cover During this Training:

• Capture Momentum: Help volunteers recognize that a rally is a starting point, not the end — a place to grow our team and build power.

• Build Organizing Muscle: Teach people how to have short 1:1 conversations that share values and move people to act.

• Activate On-the-Spot Power: Make it easy for people to take immediate action — call Congress, sign up to volunteer, write a postcard, or recruit friends — while their energy is high.

• Grow Our Base: Every conversation is a chance to meet the next leader or canvass captain, and get us that much closer to building the unstoppable force we need to win.

• Practice Confidence and Approach: Many people are new to initiating political conversations in public. This training builds confidence through practice in a safe, supportive environment.

• Get logistical tips and tools to maximize contact with potential activists.

In short: This training turns passive moments into active movement-building. It gives everyday volunteers the tools to turn energy into action and action into power — the kind of power we need to win in 2026 and stop MAGA in its tracks.
