MONDAY PHONE BANK CIRCLE
virtual , United StatesWe are excited to have our Monday phone bank circle up and running for the 2026 elections
Bill Hill is an independent candidate running for Alaska's at-large U.S. House seat, seeking to unseat freshman Republican Rep. Nick Begich III. Hill advanced from Alaska's open, top-four primary alongside Begich, and recent independent polling has shown him within the margin of error of the incumbent. In July 2026, the leading Democrat in the race, Matt Schultz, suspended his campaign and endorsed Hill, consolidating support behind Hill's bid to flip the seat.
A Dena'ina Athabascan raised in the small village of Kokhanok before his family moved to Naknek in Bristol Bay, Hill has also lived in Anchorage, Fairbanks, and Juneau. He worked as a commercial fisherman, construction worker, and small business owner before spending 25 years as an educator, serving as an administrator in the Lake and Peninsula School District and later as superintendent of the Bristol Bay Borough School District. He was named Alaska's 2023 Superintendent of the Year.
Hill has never held elected office. His campaign has been endorsed by the Alaska Public Employees Association, UFCW Local 1496, the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, and Alaska Native leaders from across the state, and he entered the fall campaign with roughly $700,000 in cash on hand. He lives in Naknek with his wife, Diane.
