Christina Hines is the Democratic nominee for Michigan's 10th Congressional District, having won a competitive three-way primary in August 2026 to take on Republican Michael Bouchard Jr. in one of Michigan's most closely watched House races. A career prosecutor and mother of three, Hines is running to protect families and children from the special interests and scams she says are hurting Macomb County.

A lifelong Macomb County resident who grew up in a working-class family and attended Warren Woods Public Schools, Hines is the daughter of autoworkers. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and her law degree from Wayne State University Law School. She and her husband, David, are raising their three children in Macomb County, the community she has called home her entire life.

Hines built her career as a prosecutor, representing survivors of sexual assault, child abuse, and human trafficking, and handling cases ranging from hate crimes to cold-case sexual assault and homicide, up to the Michigan Supreme Court. She also started a Restorative Justice Program during her legal career. In 2024, she ran for Macomb County Prosecutor, building name recognition and a base of support across the county. She enters the general election backed by a broad coalition of local officials, including Sterling Heights Mayor Michael Taylor and Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham, as well as EMILYs List.

  • As a prosecutor and mom of three, Christina is running to:
  • Lower costs for working families on groceries, childcare, housing, health care, and energy, and hold corporations accountable for price gouging
  • Protect Social Security, raise the federal minimum wage, and expand paid family leave for new parents and caregivers
  • Fight for kids' safety by pushing back on Big Tech and social media platforms that target children, and combat the fentanyl crisis with treatment and tougher penalties for traffickers
  • Protect seniors from scam and spam calls, and ensure access to safe, high-quality senior care
  • Clean up Washington by refusing corporate PAC money, banning members of Congress from trading individual stocks, and supporting the PRO Act to strengthen workers' rights to organize
  • Defend reproductive freedom and protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid from cuts
  • As a career prosecutor who has spent her life protecting Macomb County's most vulnerable, Christina Hines is running for Congress to bring that same fight for working families to Washington.
