Alaska’s ranked-choice non-partisan primary will be held August 18. The field includes the incumbent Republican Senator, Democrat Mary Peltola, a second Republican candidate, and a member of the Green Party. The top four primary vote-getters will advance to the November general election. Peltola first won in a special election as the At-Large U.S. Representative in June 2022 and won the November election that year. The first Alaska Native and first Democrat in 49 years to represent the state in the U.S. House, she lost in the 2024 election.

In Alaska’s At-Large congressional district, Democrats are hoping to flip the seat that Peltola lost by 2 points to Republican Rep. Nick Begich III, though the race is an uphill battle. Two Democrats and an Independent are running, though only one, Matthew Schultz, has raised any money for his campaign. Schultz is a Presbyterian pastor in Anchorage.
