Join Swing Left to knock on doors and Get Out The Vote in Pennsylvania, one of the country’s most crucial swing states. We need all hands on deck to boost Democratic turnout before Election Day. You’ll be canvassing to support Harris/Walz, Senator Bob Casey, and other Democrats up and down the ballot in partnership with the Pennsylvania Democratic Party, Stand Up America, Vote Save America, and Downtown East for Progress.
The bus will depart New York City, near the Port Authority Bus Terminal (between 8th Avenue and 9th Avenue), on the south side of the street at 9:30 am for Pennsylvania. Once in PA, we’ll knock on doors from 12–6pm, then head back to New York with an arrival time around 8:30 pm. The drive itself takes approximately 1.5 hours each way. There are bathrooms on the bus.
We will be in touch closer to the departure date with more details about what to expect for training, meals, and more.
Volunteers are trained on the bus with additional training at the Harris-Walz campaign field office on arrival with the goal of identifying supporters and increasing turnout. Anyone is welcome to join us on a bus—no prior experience is needed. You will be walking door to door, so comfortable shoes, a water bottle, and weather appropriate clothing – such as sunscreen, a hat, and an umbrella/poncho – is recommended. Every volunteer is paired with a partner. Volunteer-to-voter conversations have been proven to be the most effective volunteer action.
