Adam Frisch

Colorado, Congress (CO-03)

Background

Adam Frisch is running for election in Colorado’s 3rd Congressional district, now represented by Republican Lauren Boebert, who bailed the 3rd to run in a less competitive district. Frisch’s ‘s Twitter account says it all: “Candidate for Congress in Colorado's 3rd District. Father, husband, and common-sense businessman running to restore dignity to Western and Southern CO.”

Frisch's family lived on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation in Montana until he was five. The family moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where his father was an obstetrician-gynecologist and later worked for Planned Parenthood five years before retiring. Frisch earned a B.A. in economics from Colorado State University, Boulder.

Frisch worked in Manhattan as a currency trader for 10 years. After 9/11, he moved to Colorado where he met his wife, Katy. The couple has two teenage children. He served on the Aspen City Council from 2011 to 2019, and chaired Pitkin County's financial review committee from 2005 to 2011 He ran against Boebert in 2022 and lost by about 534 votes or a margin of 0.16%, a surprise since political analysts expected Boebert would win by a large margin.

On the Issues

Agriculture: “Less than 100 years ago, there were nearly 7 million farms in the United States. Now there are less than 2 million. It's our local producers that keep our economy running and our stomachs full. We need to support our farmers and ranchers.”

Healthcare: “Healthcare in this country costs too much – especially in rural areas. . . . We’re faced with the additional problems of access due to geography, and lack of facilities and providers.”

Reproductive Rights: “The government has no business interfering in our doctor’s offices. Government-mandated pregnancy is dystopian and has no place in our society. It goes against everything Americans stand for and our belief in personal freedom.”

Veterans: “Veterans’ patriotism and courage deserve more than just recognition. Our heroes deserve to get the pension and disability pay they are owed. They deserve to see the best doctors and get the physical and mental health care they need.”
