Keep Volunteer Blue looking sharp. You’ll develop ideas for eye-catching graphics and create them for social media postings, weekly newsletter, special emails, slide decks, videos, website, etc., working closely with our talented designers, writers, and tech team.
Skills and Experience:
Graphic design experience in non-profit, corporate, or agency. Color theory, typography and layout, visual design principles. Helpful: WordPress, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or other graphics software.

Newsletter Volunteer

Working closely with our Communication team member in assembling our monthly newsletter using the Action Network platform at the beginning of each month. Eventually, becoming proficient enough to put out a newsletter on your own. All content is provided to you. Third Act, founded by Bill McKibben, is a group of people over 60 who are determined to bring our life experiences, skills and resources together to save democracy and the planet
Skills and Experience:
Previous experience with Action Network would be helpful, but not necessary. Previous experience with other newsletter templates like Mailchimp or Constant Contact is highly useful.

Veterans for a Veteran-Run Task Force

Volunteer Blue is forming a small veteran-led Mission Leadership Team to launch and direct a powerful new national initiative to recruit and mobilize veterans across America to support grassroots organizations who are inspiring citizens to vote in the midterms. We seek a limited number of veteran volunteers from all branches of service. You’ll help shape and direct the new initiative with positioning and messaging, volunteer recruitment, communications strategies, and grassroots engagement.
Skills and Experience:
Veteran volunteers who think strategically, enjoy sharing ideas and turning them into action, relish fast-moving environments, have good communications skills, and want to once again volunteer for a mission bigger than themselves

Public Relations Specialist

Computer Specialist – GIS and Election Mapping Support

This role involves the acquisition and integration of shapefiles from government sources, loading and managing geographic data in PostgreSQL/PostGIS (and potentially MySQL), ensuring spatial accuracy, and supporting the back-end logic that places voters within the correct set of voting districts.
Skills and Experience:
Proficiency in GIS tools (e.g., QGIS, GDAL/OGR, ArcGIS, or similar). Experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS; familiarity with MySQL is a plus. Experience working with shapefiles, GeoJSON, and spatial metadata. Ability to write and troubleshoot spatial SQL queries. Strong attention to detail and documentation practices. Familiarity with election geographies (e.g., precincts, wards, congressional districts) or willingness to learn.Familiarity with Python or JavaScript for automation or backend integration is a plus.
