Angie Craig

Minnesota, Congress (MN-02)

Background

Representative Angie Craig (MN-02) is a strong advocate for working families and strives to create a Minnesota where everyone has a fair shot. Raised by a single mother who worked tirelessly to earn her teaching degree, Angie learned the value of hard work and perseverance early on. She worked two jobs to put herself through college and eventually moved to Minnesota, where she fell in love with the state’s vibrant communities and high quality of life.

Before entering politics, Angie began work as a newspaper reporter and eventually became head of Global HR and Corporate Relations for a major Minnesota manufacturer. She and her wife, Cheryl Greene, have raised four sons, three of whom have completed college or technical school, with one still in college.

On the Issues

In Congress, Rep. Angie Craig is focused on lowering healthcare costs, expanding access to career skills and technical training, and ensuring that every Minnesotan has the opportunity to succeed. She is a fierce advocate for making healthcare more affordable and has already succeeded in passing legislation to cap insulin costs at $35 per month for seniors on Medicare. Craig is now working to extend this cap to all Americans and has also played a key role in reducing premiums and expanding healthcare coverage for millions more through the Affordable Care Act.

Craig has been ranked among the top 2% of bipartisan members of Congress. She has hosted over 60 town halls across her district, listening to her constituents’ concerns and prioritizing their voices over special interests. Craig has also led efforts to address the fentanyl crisis, support the U.S. Postal Service, and push for reforms to prevent members of Congress from serving as lobbyists or trading individual stocks.

Craig continues to work tirelessly to bring down costs for working families, improve access to education and healthcare, and ensure that every Minnesotan has a fair shot at success.
