Currently, we need people who will help us populate the pages that provide details on the states and candidates that comprise our Key Races. Editors are also needed for our Substack project. Volunteer Blue is a coalition that works to identify competitive races at the U.S. House and Senate level and to help people to find effective actions to help elect Democrats.

Ability to edit Facetime/Zoom videos, good collaboration skills, timely response to questions or issues.

This role involves the acquisition and integration of shapefiles from government sources, loading and managing geographic data in PostgreSQL/PostGIS (and potentially MySQL), ensuring spatial accuracy, and supporting the back-end logic that places voters within the correct set of voting districts.
Skills and Experience:
Proficiency in GIS tools (e.g., QGIS, GDAL/OGR, ArcGIS, or similar). Experience with PostgreSQL/PostGIS; familiarity with MySQL is a plus. Experience working with shapefiles, GeoJSON, and spatial metadata. Ability to write and troubleshoot spatial SQL queries. Strong attention to detail and documentation practices. Familiarity with election geographies (e.g., precincts, wards, congressional districts) or willingness to learn.Familiarity with Python or JavaScript for automation or backend integration is a plus.
