Tom Malinowski represents New Jersey’s 7th District in the U.S. House. He was elected in 2018 by a 7 percent margin and in 2020 by a 1.2 percent margin. He earned a BA in political science from University of California, Berkeley, and an M.Phil. from Oxford University. He worked on the National Security Council during the Clinton administration, as the Washington Advocacy Director at Human Rights Watch, and as an Assistant Secretary of State during the Obama administration. He is vice chair of the U.S. House Committee on Foreign Affairs and also serves on the Homeland Security and Transportation and Infrastructure committees. Malinowski describes himself as one who fights for the middle class, working to restore tax fairness, and for keeping healthcare accessible and affordable.
