Nevada
House · NV-03 · Susie LeeHOLD
Early Voting Begins: Sat, Oct 17
In Nevada, voters identifying as either Republican or Democrat are split evenly at 28%, while non-enrolled voters represent 38% of the voting population. And, while Nevada has tended to vote for Democratic presidential candidates, the growing independent segment makes off-year election predictions a challenge. It remains a highly-competitive purple state, with a Republican governor and lieutenant governor, while the secretary of state, speaker of the house and attorney general are all Democrats.
Since 2018, U.S. Congresswoman Susie Lee has served Nevada’s 3rd Congressional district, which continues to lean Democratic. NV-03 is a tightly divided Las Vegas-area swing district, and in Lee’s most recent reelection, she won by less than 3 points. She touts her bipartisan approach in Congress as delivering what is important to her state. The Nevada electorate is focused on the economy, stability in the hospitality industry, and the rising cost of living. Lee has focused her campaign on supporting tax credits and federal investments in working families while opposing large tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations.
- NV-03 (Democratic leaning) is rated 207th most Democratic district in the country.
- The Nevada Sun endorsed Lee, saying she is a “moderate consensus builder that can get things done even when the opposition party has unified control of Congress, the White House and the courts.”
- Lee also garnered the endorsements of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the National Organization for Women PAC, the Planned Parenthood Action Fund, the Culinary Workers Union 226, and Emily’s List.
- The primary boasted a crowded field, with four Democrats, four Republicans, an Independent, and two unenrolled candidates.
- NV-03 consists of southern Las Vegas and most of nearby Henderson, the second largest city in the state.
