Jared Moskowitz

Jared Moskowitz is the Democratic U.S. Representative for South Florida, first elected to Congress in 2022 and re-elected in 2024. After Florida's 2026 redistricting dismantled his current 23rd District, Moskowitz is running for re-election in the newly drawn 25th Congressional District, which runs along the Atlantic coast from Palm Beach County through Broward to Miami Beach. Widely rated a toss-up and considered one of the most competitive House races in the country, the seat is a fitting stage for a lawmaker known as a results-focused, independent voice willing to work across the aisle.

Born and raised in Broward County, Moskowitz is a proud graduate of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. He earned a degree in political science with a focus on public policy from The George Washington University and a law degree from Nova Southeastern University. Inspired by his father's work as a Democratic Party committeeman, he entered public service early, interning for Vice President Al Gore and serving as one of Florida's electors for Barack Obama in 2008. He was first elected to the Parkland City Commission while still in law school.

Elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2012, Moskowitz built a reputation as a pragmatic, bipartisan problem-solver and helped craft the landmark Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Public Safety Act following the 2018 shooting at his alma mater. In 2019, Republican Governor Ron DeSantis appointed him to lead Florida's Division of Emergency Management, where he directed the state's response to multiple hurricanes and the COVID-19 pandemic. After serving on the Broward County Commission, he was elected to Congress in 2022, succeeding Ted Deutch. He now serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, where he is Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Accountability, and on the House Judiciary Committee.

• Hold the administration accountable through rigorous congressional oversight and transparency
• Defend civil rights and pursue criminal justice reform
